The idea of paying tribute to the Soldier Settlement occurred to the Staff at the Barmah Forest Heritage and Education Centre after a course was conducted in Cobram by Moira Arts and Culture (MAC Inc.)
At the time we did not realise the extraordinary amount of research and work that had already been undertaken by Mrs Cheryl McKenzie and the Soldier Settlement Monument Committee.
This book is a tribute to the hard-working people of that committee, and to their forbearers who settled in the area.
