On Saturday, 25^th of November, St Mary of the Angels Secondary College Year 12 Graduate and Nathalia local, Kian Brereton was honoured when he received a Georgy Award for Best Performance in a Junior Production for his role as Sam in the 2023 SMOTA Production, Mamma Mia.

Now in its 50^th year, the Georgy Awards recognise excellence in theatrical talent across the Northern Victorian region.

St Mary of the Angels Secondary College Production Director Rae Wood said, “Kian has been involved in Production here at SMOTA since his junior years, he has been a wonderful asset to the team, mentor to his peers and ambassador for the Arts in general. We’re very proud of him and thrilled that his efforts are being recognised.

“The Award is a credit to Kian’s work ethic and natural ability.”
